Leeds United defeated Norwich City 2-0 on Wednesday, with USMNT midfielder Brenden Aaronson getting the start in a big victory for the . Fellow U.S. international Josh Sargent was a second half substitution for the introduced in the 59th minute down two goals. Sargent returned to the pitch for Norwich just over a week back in their FA Cup clash with Brighton after an extended period on the sideline due to injury. The American striker has now featured in three-straight matches for the , but has yet to find himself on the scoresheet. All three matches have been substitute cameos.
Aaronson, meanwhile, has solidified his place in the Leeds XI in recent months, playing a crucial role in their midfield triangle as an attacking midfielder. On Wednesday, he logged 90 minutes, completing 21-of-24 passes while creating two attacking chances. He registered 40 touches on the ball, with six of them coming in the opposition box, resulting in one blocked shot attempt from the American.
