Stoke have lost only once at the Britannia Stadium this season and avoiding defeat again today will go a long way in ensuring they finish in the top ten, although they will have to do it without influential defender Robert Huth who begins a three-match ban today.
The Hammers have struggled on the road all season and will be hurting following their desperate 3-2 loss to Tottenham on Monday night. They will be without captain Kevin Nolan after he limped off in that game with a broken toe, and that could turn out to be a bitter blow for them as they attempt to halt their slide in to the relegation mire.
Here’s how they will line up:
Stoke: Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross (c), Wilson, Wilkinson; Walters, Whelan, Nzonzi, Kightly; Jerome, Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Cameron, Palacios, Jones, Adam, Whitehead, Shea.
West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Demel, O’Brien, Reid (c), Collins, Taylor, Diame, O’Neil, Jarvis, J.Cole, Carroll. Subs: Spiegel, Pogatetz, Collison, Chamakh, Vaz Te, C.Cole, Maiga.
